The Community Wellness Project provides free support services for *eligible people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Our services are funded by the Ryan White Transitional Grant Areas (TGAs). PLWHA living in the St. Louis, MO area with incomes below 300% of the federal poverty level may qualify for services. Medical Case Management (MCM):

Medical Case Management consist of a range of client-centered services of the HIV continuum for eligible PLWHA. The goal of MCM is to move clients to self-sufficiency and get to *undetectable, copies of HIV are so low that the virus cannot be passed on sexually.

*Fewer than 50 copies of HIV per milliliter of blood (<50 copies/mL)

If you need our assistance, please contact us:
Early Intervention Services (EIS): Counseling:

The Community Wellness Project provides sexual health education to individuals about HIV/AIDS, how the virus is transmitted, PrEP / nPEP, and new terminology such as Undetectable equals Untransmittable (U=U).

Testing:

Targeted Testing is a strategy, which allows CWP to focus on individuals who are members of communities with a high prevalence of HIV in the St. Louis TGA. We use two different HIV testing kits. Our one-minute Insti kit detects the presence of infection via the antibody. Our Determine kit detects the presence of infection via the antibody and the p24 antigen.

Additional testing performed by a medical provider can confirm infection, measure viral load, and prescribe medication to treat infection. The goal of testing is to help link newly diagnosed individuals into care and prevent new HIV incidences (new HIV cases) by knowing their HIV status, wearing condoms, using lube, and taking PrEP.
