Ryan White Services and Programs
Ryan White Program Services:

The Community Wellness Project provides free support services for *eligible people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Our services are funded by the Ryan White Transitional Grant Areas (TGAs). PLWHA living in the St. Louis, MO area with incomes below 300% of the federal poverty level may qualify for services. Medical Case Management (MCM):
Medical Case Management consist of a range of client-centered services of the HIV continuum for eligible PLWHA. The goal of MCM is to move clients to self-sufficiency and get to *undetectable, copies of HIV are so low that the virus cannot be passed on sexually.
*Fewer than 50 copies of HIV per milliliter of blood (<50 copies/mL)

Early Intervention Services (EIS): Counseling:
The Community Wellness Project provides sexual health education to individuals about HIV/AIDS, how the virus is transmitted, PrEP / nPEP, and new terminology such as Undetectable equals Untransmittable (U=U).
Testing:
Targeted Testing is a strategy, which allows CWP to focus on individuals who are members of communities with a high prevalence of HIV in the St. Louis TGA. We use two different HIV testing kits. Our one-minute Insti kit detects the presence of infection via the antibody. Our Determine kit detects the presence of infection via the antibody and the p24 antigen.
Additional testing performed by a medical provider can confirm infection, measure viral load, and prescribe medication to treat infection. The goal of testing is to help link newly diagnosed individuals into care and prevent new HIV incidences (new HIV cases) by knowing their HIV status, wearing condoms, using lube, and taking PrEP.

Psychosocial Support Services (PSS):
Community support meetings, which are held in safe, non-judgmental environments for PLWHA or at-risk individuals. Refreshments provided. Terms and conditions may apply.
All Tea, No Shade is designed for Black same gender loving men. These meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.
EmpowerHER meetings are specifically designed for Black women. For information, click here
T.W.I.S.T.’d T is specifically designed for transgender individuals, regardless of race or ethnicity. These meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.

Free harm reduction kits provided and clean syringe / needle exchange. Certain conditions may apply. Please contact us for more details.
Food Pantry
Food assistance support services provided to E. St. Louis, Illinois residents from our office located in the Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center.
