Our Programs
As an extensive adaptation of the Women Involved in Life Learning from Other Women (WILLOW) intervention, T.W.I.S.T. provides a framework for transgender women to share their lived experiences as a means of recognizing and valuing their social and cultural resilience. Intervention activities are guided by social cognitive theory, transgender theory, and gender affirmation theory. Intervention activities also include strategies that support gender identity and HIV-status disclosure.
Transgender Women Involved in Strategies for Transformation (TWIST) is a peer-led, small-group, social-skills-building, and educational intervention for adult transgender women with HIV who have known their HIV status for at least three months. It consists of four 4-hour sessions, taught by two adult transgender women who are trained to deliver the intervention through attending a Training of Facilitators (TOF) course.

Weekend-retreats (1 cycle) of the evidence-based d-up! Intervention for 10-12 BMSM.
Weekend-retreat style cycle of the evidence-based TWIST intervention for 10-12 Transgender women.
Services
Free and confidential 1 minute HIV Testing conducted in office from 10am until 4pm or on-site by appointment
Services are provided to both community members who have and do not have health insurance by appointment. Please contact us for more details and to schedule your appointment.
Free harm reduction kits provided and clean syringe / needle exchange. Certain conditions may apply. Please contact us for more details.
Food assistance support services provided to E. St. Louis, Illinois residents from our office located in the Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center.
